Genshin Impact is HoYoverse's open-world action RPG, built around elemental reactions and a large cast of playable characters spread across seven nations. Version 7.0, Everwinter Without Mercy, launched on August 12, 2026 and skipped Version 6.8 to reach Snezhnaya, the Fatui's home nation and the last of the seven. The region runs on Kresnik energy and a train network, and the new Eye of Graeae tool lets you call trains, build Prime Ice Constructs and switch into a third-person shooter mode. The update also added Odette, a 5-star Cryo sword user, Alyosha, a 4-star Electro polearm user who was free in the first phase, a Cryo alignment for the Traveler and the Stellar Swirl reaction, which combines Anemo and Cryo. Version 7.1, A Rekviem for the Underworld, followed on September 23 with Commander Vesna and the opera singer Vodyanitsa, continued the Snezhnaya Archon Quest and doubled as the game's sixth anniversary.
